Recent crime reports are becoming available to local residents.
The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) has formed a partnership with CrimeReports.com.
Through the arrangement, the PWCPD hopes to raise awareness about local crimes and help protect citizens, according to a release from the department.
“We want to continue to engage with our community by being as transparent as possible with what is occurring in our county,” Chief Barry Barnard said in a release. “It’s imperative for residents and business owners be knowledgeable of crime in our community and, more importantly, their specific neighborhood so they can make informed decisions regarding their personal safety. This new tool will help with that.”
Program users will be able to search for crimes that have occurred within the past six months. They may also make alerts about incidents and register cameras that can be used to solve them.
