The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will be providing the community a voice in its upcoming assessment of the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD).
In a little less than a month, the Prince William County Police Department, Criminal Justice Academy, and the Office of Public Safety Communications will be under examination. CALEA will study how the agency operates, as well as its policies and procedures, according to a release from PWCPD.
Community members can provide feedback to the assessors on August 5 at 6:30pm at the McCoart Administration building, 1 County Complex Court in Woodbridge.
For those unable to make the date, the assessment team can be reached by phone on August 5 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at 703-792-8160. Comments will be limited to 10 minutes.
There is another option for folks unable to attend or call. Written comments will be accepted if directed to: Commission Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, VA 20155
The assessment team will present their findings to CALEA, which will determine if the department is eligible for re-accreditation.
For more information, please contact the PWCPD Public Information Office at 703-792-5123 or write CELEA to its address.
