An upcoming fundraiser is giving the public an opportunity to be bold or take time to relax.
The 2021 Polar Plunge is still occurring, but there will be a few changes.
County residents can get involved in the annual event through a couple of different methods, according to a release from the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD).
Between February 1 and February 6, individuals and teams may take part virtually by jumping into cold water, stepping into a hot tub, or simply taking a shower. They are able to share their experience on social media by including the hashtag, #plungeyourway.
A Facebook Live celebration is taking place on February 6.
Donations are being accepted, as well. Proceeds from the event are going to Special Olympics Virginia, a non-profit that serves individuals who have intellectual disabilities.
In February, the PWCPD hosted a Polar Plunge event that raised $91,000.
Those who would like to sign up or donate can do so on the Special Olympics Virginia website.
