A role is opening up to area poets.
The Prince William County Arts Council and the Poet Laureate Circle are accepting nominations for the Prince William County Poet Laureate until June 15.
During this two-year position, the chosen individual will promote poetry, participate in events and work on at least one project.
To be considered, candidates must be at least 21 years old and should have lived in the Prince William County area for two years.
In addition to the nomination form, a literary resume and a page explaining proposed activities should be submitted.
The nomination must also include poetry samples and no more than three letters of support.

The Prince William County Arts Council will start receiving recommendations for the Poet Laureate on October 11.
