Pile driving will be happening along Route 1 in Woodbridge, starting next week.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), pile driving will be happening just north of Marys Way in Woodbridge as part of the construction of the new bridge over Marumsco Creek.
The pile driving will take place between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. from December 27 through December 30 and January 3 through January 6, according to VDOT.
“Crews will be monitoring noise levels associated with the pile driving in order to minimize disruption to nearby businesses and residences,” stated a release.
The work is being done as part of the Route 1 widening project, which will add a third lane in both directions between Marys Way and Annapolis Way, according to a release.
The widening project is set for completion in fall 2019.
