During the Occoquan Arts & Crafts Fair, we got a chance to chat with the business manager of Patriot Scuba, and talk with them about their non-profit that assists wounded, injured, and disabled veterans.
Patriot Scuba is a full-service dive center that has gear, training for divers at all levels, gear servicing, and trip travel, according to store manager Rob Currer.
In their line of work, they get to do quite a bit of travel.
“We travel the world. We were just in Fiji last March, we’ll be in Curassow July, Roatan in October, as well as all over the East Coast,” said Currer.
Currer also spoke about the company’s non-profit – Patriots for Disabled Divers.
“We founded a non-profit – Patriots for Disabled Divers. It’s like a national organization where we teach injured veterans throughout the U.S. to scuba dive, and [they] benefit from the physical, psychological, and social [aspects],” said Currer.
