Many restaurants are offering another eating option, and some community members aren’t hesitating to use it.
Northern Virginia has entered Phase One of the “Forward Virginia” plan.
As part of Phase One, businesses that serve food and beverages can provide outdoor seating at 50 percent capacity, according to the Commonwealth of Virginia website.
Outdoor exercising may be offered by fitness centers and retailers are allowed to run at 50 percent occupancy, as well.
Dr. Patricia Crews and Tonya Gholson were among those who enjoyed some fresh air on Friday.
They visited a business at Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center in Woodbridge.
Those cooking the meals, Crews pointed out, are wearing masks. She added that each time a person talks, they spit.
“That is a very good precautionary measure that’s being implemented now that we’re under this … pandemic, which I hope will last even after the vaccine,” Crews said.
Gholson discussed the importance of supporting businesses.
Some establishments were already facing challenges before the Coronavirus.
“We don’t need any other businesses to have challenges, and so we need to all support the shopping center,” Gholson said.
