Organizations are addressing flooding in the region.
A Coastal Flooding Study Open House is occurring at Martha Washington Branch Library, 6614 Fort Hunt Road in Alexandria, on September 11.
Hosted by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, the meeting will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Attendees will learn about the Northern Virginia Coastal Storm Risk Management Study, according to the MWCOG website.
The study focuses on flooding issues and solutions, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers website. It’s looking into locations across Northern Virginia, including Prince William County.
Parking is available at the library and the Mt. Vernon Recreation Center. Routes 101 and 152 of the Fairfax Connector bus also transporting passengers from the Huntington Metro Station to the library.
