The Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra (OBCO) is hosting their annual ‘Messiah’ sing along in Prince William on December 16 and 17.
Each year, OBCO has a holiday sing along with performances of Handel’s Messiah, and this year they’re hosting two performances – one on December 16 at 7:30 p.m. at 13600 Minnieville Road, and another on December 17 at 7:30 p.m. at 9750 Wellington Road.
More on the performance, from a release:
Under the baton of Maestro David Kirven, OBCO will provide the instrumentalists, inspiring vocal soloists, and trained choral “ringers”. From the comfort of their seats, the audience is encouraged to join those ringers during Choruses like “For unto Us a Child Is Born”, “Glory to God”, and, of course, “Hallelujah”.
“Our Messiah Sing Along is easily our most popular event,” says OBCO Board President and Concertmistress, Sheyna Burt. “One of our choral members described it as the most moving musical experience he had ever had … there is something profound and beautiful about hundreds of people joining forces to produce this music”.
Admission is free (donations accepted) and, due to popular demand, the event is being offered twice, both at 7:30 PM: on Friday, December 16th at First Baptist Church (13600 Minnieville Road, Woodbridge) and on Saturday, December 17th at Grace United Methodist Church (9750 Wellington Road, Manassas).
