Thousands of drivers go through the Route 123-Old Bridge Road intersection each day.
Route 123 sees an average of 71,000 vehicles where the two roads daily, according to a release from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The average for Old Bridge Road at the intersection is 45,000 vehicles.
Officials are requesting input from commuters for a study on possible updates.
Building a partial or full grade-separated interchange, expanding lanes, and changing and moving traffic signals are some options being considered.
A presentation and a survey that’s available until July 6 can be found on the VDOT website.
To submit feedback, email meetingcomments@vdot.virginia.gov, or mail comments to: Ms. Angel Tao, P.E., Virginia Department of Transportation, 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030.
Officials plan to finish and post the study later in the summer.
