Occoquan’s VFW Post 7916 honored Home Depot for the work they funded and donated to the post.
According to a release, the Home Depot Team of Northern Virginia was awarded a certificate “For Meritorious and Distinguished Service in Furthering the Aims and Ideals of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.”
The award was given to thank the Home Depot and the Home Depot Foundation for a $2,500 grant they gave to the VFW, as well as the labor they provided to make much needed repairs on the building.
“Located in the historic town of Occoquan, the non-profit VFW Post 7916 resides in an aging 100 year-old building in need of some repairs,” stated a release.
“I want to express my sincere appreciation for the generosity from the Home Depot Foundation and for your outstanding support to the ‘Warriors Still Serving’ here at VFW Post 7916,” stated Post Commander Chuck Wilson in a release.
