Occoquan’s VFW Post 7916 was honored at the VFW Post Convention for their work in the community.
According to a release, at the convention, which included 135 VFW Posts from all over Virginia, VFW Post 7916 was given the distinction of being an “All State” VFW Post.
The Posts’ Commander Chuck Wilson and Quartermaster James Adams were awarded $300 each for their work, which will be donated to the Post to “continue its charitable mission in helping of, and advocating for, our nation’s veterans,” stated a release.
Adams also won the W.I. Woodell Memorial Post Quartermaster Award, an award given to someone “who has shown outstanding dedication to his Post and the Department,” stated a release.
VFW Post 7916 also won several other awards at the convention. More on the awards, from a release:

“The Bravo Zulu!” Award for “…steadfast and Determined efforts with the Virginia legislature Benefiting every Veteran in the State of Virginia,”
“Recognition for Outstanding Service,” for sustained outstanding performance and tireless efforts that benefit every Veteran service Organization in Virginia.
