The Occoquan VFW Post 7916 is celebrating its 70th anniversary.
According to a release, VFW Post 7916 will be hosting an anniversary celebration event on June 26 at 1 p.m. at 204 Mill Street in Occoquan.
The event is open to the public.
“We’ve come a long way from our start with 34 veterans to our over 700 members and auxiliaries today. From WWII, Korea, Vietnam, to Iraq and Afghanistan, Post 7916 members have served in them all while continually supporting those who have sacrificed so much for this country: U.S. military veterans and those currently serving in our Armed Forces as well as their families, through community service, a commitment to national security and a strong national defense,” stated a release.
