The Occoquan River is about to get a cleansing.
Friends of the Occoquan (FOTO) is seeking volunteers for its Fall Occoquan River Clean Up.
Running from 9 a.m. to Noon, the program is occurring rain or shine on October 5.
Refreshments are going to be offered. Participants are asked to bring and use refillable water bottles instead of plastic ones.
Organizers are also looking for boaters who can help at different parts of the river. If you’re able to lend a hand in this way, contact FOTO by calling 703-624-7124.
Some jon boats will be available for use at Fountainhead Regional Park in Fairfax County.
