The Good News Community Kitchen (TGNKC) wants you to have a ‘roaring’ good time, while helping out their organization.
The non-profit is hosting ‘A Roaring 20’s’ event on February 3 at Harbour View at 13200 Marina Way in Woodbridge, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
“The gala is to help us raise operating costs or funds so that we can accomplish our mission and put [that] back into our communities,” said TGNKC Executive Director Mercedes Kirkland-Doyle.
“The exquisite plated dinner reception will be provided by Catering by Uptown. Guests will enjoy a casino-style cocktail hour, professional photographer, jazz dance performance, the Adrian Duke Duo, live auction and signature cocktails available at our cash bar throughout the evening,” stated a release.
More on TGNCK and their event, from a release:
The Good News Community Kitchen visualizes citizens, throughout Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area, uniting together to develop and mentor Veterans and civilians transitioning back into the workforce, facilitate clothing drives to assist women and men transitioning back into the workforce, distributing hygiene bags and meals-to-go to the hungry, collecting coats and blankets to distribute to the unsheltered and sheltered underserved to keep warm in the winter, providing nutritious emergency meal units to assist families that identify food insecurity and serving warm “family-like” meals to our adopted local housing shelter. Our mission is to rebuild and strengthen communities by fighting hunger one meal at a time.
In all that we do, our goal is to add value to the lives of others while emulating our core values: Outreach, Unity, Compassion and Selfless-Service. Throughout the years we will work diligently towards implementing our Core Four Programs: Mobile Meals, Hygiene Heroes, Trends to Transition and Warm Winters.
Guests are asked to dress in 1920s-style attire. Individual tickets are $130 and tickets for couples are $250. To purchase tickets, click here.
