The Town of Occoquan is hosting Pittsburgh-based band ‘James Drakes and the Chris Taylor Trio’ for their Music on Mill Concert Series on September 16.
The free concert series has been happening each Saturday night through the summer, and this final concert in the series will take place at River Mill Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Aside from being an acoustic rock band, the group is also dedicated to helping the environment.
According to a release, the band made their first music video in partnership with the Plastic Ocean Project, a group that focuses on removing plastic pollution from the ocean.

This show will mark the band’s first visit to the region. It also coincides with the release of their highly anticipated debut album “follow these rivers.”
The band has a fun, distinct sound and with an arsenal of catchy originals and sing-along covers, this band is quickly gaining traction in the regional music scene.
