Help keep the Occoquan River and reservoir clean! Due to the chilly weather forecast for this weekend, we’ve rescheduled the annual spring cleanup to Saturday, April 23, 2016. As usual, we’ll be working from multiple locations all along the river and reservoir. For a full list of locations and maps, click here.
Volunteers will gather trash on shore and paddlers work from canoes and kayaks to retrieve trash from the water. This cleanup is part of the Alice Ferguson Foundation’s 28th Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup. Dumpsters and toilet facilities will be available at most sites. Trash bags, gloves, snacks, sign-in and sign-out, and water will be provided at all sites. Shuttle service for canoeists and kayakers will be available on a scheduled basis.
We want your help! Please register for this event here (Note: if you’ve already registered for this Saturday, there’s no need to re-register, but if you can’t make it to the rain date, please email vice.president@pwtsc.org).
We partner with the PWC Parks & Recreation Department, Prince William Soil and Water Conservation District, and several homeowner’s associations for this event.
