The Arc of Greater Prince William recently received a special delivery.
Birmingham Green has donated $500 in toys and supplies to the Muriel Humphrey Childcare Center in Dale City, which serves children with disabilities.
Staff members and residents from the Manassas-based nursing home delivered the gifts on Friday, according to a release.
They were among 300 community members who participated in Comcast Cares Day last month.
Comcast Cares Day is an annual community service event that was organized by Leadership Prince William (LPW) and Comcast.
This year, volunteers worked on projects at The Arc of Greater Prince William and the John D. Jenkins Park.
Before Comcast Cares Day, staff members from The Arc created a wish list of requested items, many of which were purchased.
LPW Executive Director Andrea Money said the project opened her eyes to non-profits that serve individuals who have special needs.
“It’s not just that they provide so many great services, but that they support one another so generously,” Money said in a release. “This gift from Birmingham Green to The Arc is just one example of that connectivity and care.”
