“Structure(d) Observations” will be on display at Northern Virginia Community College’s Woodbridge Campus.
According to a release, it is the first art exhibit of the season and will be on site from August 23 to September 30 at The New Gallery for Contemporary Art at 2645 College Drive in Woodbridge.
The exhibit will highlight the work of regional sculptors Christian Benefiel, Elsabe Dixon, Laurel Lukaszewski, Adam Nelson, Stewart Watson, and Dane Winkler, according to a release. The exhibit was co-curated by Professor Zac Jackson and Professor Erin Devine, with the intention of drawing attention to sculpture, which is the newest art degree concentration at the Woodbridge campus, stated a release.
“Students in the sculpture program will collaborate with sculptor artist Christian Benefiel to create an outdoor piece that will be on display for the run of the exhibition in the Sculpture Court, located just outside the east entrance to the gallery,” Devine stated in a release.
A free reception for the exhibit will be held on August 25 from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on the first floor of the college’s Arts & Sciences Building, according to a release.
“The exhibit and the reception are free and open to the public. The Gallery will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Parking is free after 4 p.m. in any B lot on campus,” stated a release.
