A new aquarium shop is about to open.
NOVA Tropicals, located at 5409 Mapledale Plaza, will offer an assortment of saltwater fish and freshwater fish.
The store plans to quarantine the fish.
Owner Dave Dempsey hopes to provide correct information and educate customers.
Giving back to the community is another goal.
One of the organizations that Dempsey is supporting is Streetlight Community Outreach Ministries, which seeks to help the poor and homeless.

Dempsey is donating a saltwater system that the non-profit will raffle off.
Tickets for the raffle, which will be on May 29, are going to be available at NOVA Tropicals.
“I think this is a great cause for our community to try to get behind, because there are a lot of homeless people that actually are living on the streets today,” Dempsey said.
