The Coronavirus has changed the way many people are working and learning.
Literacy Volunteers of America — Prince William, Inc. (LVA-PW) is continuing to teach adults through online classes. A $5,000 grant from the Nora Roberts Foundation is providing support to the non-profit.
The foundation supports literacy as well as, arts non-profits, children programs and humanitarian efforts.
Based out of Dale City, LVA-PW provides classes and tutoring on an array of subjects, including citizenship, computer and GED preparation. It began assisting community members more than 29 years ago.
The literacy organization plans to use the funds to help ESL and Job Readiness for New Immigrants Program participants learn English and prepare for the workforce.
