Runners and walkers have an opportunity to complete a 5K while enjoying nature.
The Humane Society of Northern Virginia (HSNV) and Beagle, Rescue, Education and Welfare (BREW) are having a “Pets 4 Life” 1K & 5K Walk/Run.
It will be held at Prince William Forest Park, 18170 Park Entrance Road in Triangle, on September 30.
Check-in for the rain or shine event is at 9 a.m. and the walk/run begins at 10 a.m.
Registration can be found on the humane society’s website. It costs $20 to participate in the 1K and $30 for the 5K.
This doesn’t include the $20 Prince William Forest Park entrance fee. Those who have a National Park Pass and active duty military members don’t need to pay the vehicle fee and must provide proof at check-in.
The proceeds support BREW and the humane society.
HSNV, a Dumfries-based non-profit, is powered by Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets (A3P). It aims to find forever homes for adoptable pets. BREW seeks to rescue and re-home beagles.
