Numerous veterans who have settled down in Northern Virginia are elderly, sick or disabled.
A local non-profit is stepping up to help them.
Based out of Prince William County, the Northern Virginia (NOVA) Veterans Association connects those who served in the military to resources.
It assists with a variety of services, including transportation, food delivery, healthcare appointments and scam avoidance, according to a release from NOVA Veterans Association.
“Veterans struggle to access and receive services now more than ever and we have increased our support services through the goodwill of our volunteers who’ve stepped up and helped,” President and CEO Angela McConnell said in a release.
Those interested in volunteering or donating to the organization may reach out to McConnell at (703) 659-0788 or info@novavets.org.
