If you’re traveling on I-95 tonight, expect some delays in the Fredericksburg and Stafford area.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), there will be overnight travel delays both northbound and southbound in the Fredericksburg area, due to multiple work zones.
“Several lanes will be closed between Exit 130/Route 3 in Fredericksburg and Exit 133/Route 17 in Stafford County. Lanes will be closed from Thursday evening into early Friday, Dec. 2,” stated VDOT.
More on the timing and location of the delays:
Interstate 95 Southbound
- 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.Double lane closure. Crews will collect pavement samples from the left and center lanes of I-95 southbound between the Route 17 overpass and the Rappahannock River bridge.
Interstate 95 Northbound
- 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.Single lane closure. Crews will close the right lane for ongoing construction of a new interstate overpass at Fall Hill Avenue, which is just north of Exit 130/Route 3.
Message boards will provide advance warning of these work zones and lane closures.
