A change in administration is underway at Lake Ridge Middle School. The change includes a familiar face for students.
According to a release from Prince William County Schools (PWCS), Assistant Principal Jim Dutrow will now head the school as its newest principal.
Dutrow started out his career as a health and physical education (PE) teacher in Fairfax County before coming down to Prince William County a few years later.
Once he left Fairfax County, he started working as a Health and PE teacher at Lake Ridge Middle School.
However, after spending two years as a teacher on administrative assignment, Dutrow found a new passion, he said in a release. “When I started to see the impact that I could have on whole school communities, that’s when I really decided that administration was the direction I wanted to go with my career,” he spoke.
As Dutrow transitions into this new administrative role he took a moment to speak on his personal views on education.“My philosophy for education is that every student can learn, every student can be successful, and it is our job, its our duty to find the ways to help them become successful,” Dutrow explained.
