The search for Prince William County’s new Police Chief has begun.
Community members can play a role in the decision by filling out a questionnaire on Survey Monkey, according to a release from Prince William County. It should be submitted by July 23.
Featuring eight questions, the survey asks participants about traits they would like to see in the chosen candidate, three priorities they should focus on, and ways the police department can improve.
Survey takers are also able to provide advice, and describe the chief’s biggest challenges and opportunities.
The county is working with GovHR USA Consultants for the hiring process.
Former Police Chief Barry Barnard announced his retirement in May. Deputy Chief Jarad Phelps is serving as Acting Chief of Police.
