Motorists are receiving another parking option in the next few years.
Members of the Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) have approved the construction of a parking garage in Woodbridge.
Expected to be finished in early 2023, the Potomac-Neabsco Commuter Garage will stand at 2501 Opitz Boulevard.
It will offer 1,400 spots, according to a release from Prince William County.
The Smart Scale program, which is run by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), is funding the estimated $37 million project.
Prince William County is purchasing the property from JBG/Woodbridge for $5.5 million, not including closing fees.
