Community members in need of medical care have access to another facility.
Catholic Charities has opened a medical clinic in Woodbridge.
Standing at 13900 Church Hill Drive, it’s the second Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic, according to a release from Catholic Charities. The first facility — located at 9380 Forestwood Lane, Unit B in Manassas — opened about two years ago.
“The need for free, high quality health care in our diocese is great. With this second clinic, Catholic Charities will be able to provide excellent care to serve the most vulnerable adults who come from all of Prince William County,” Catholic Charities President and CEO Art Bennett said in a release. “We continue to look for new ways to expand our services and meet the needs of those throughout our communities. This new clinic is an example of those efforts, made possible by the continuing generosity of our faithful donors.”
During the Coronavirus, the clinic is going to offer some care through telemedicine.
Appointments can also be set up for various services, including physicals, prenatal care and sick visits.
Volunteers, a nurse, and an office staff member will run it.
“I am so pleased that the clinic is able to expand its reach, especially as the nation is experiencing the current public health emergency and access to standard health care services is limited,” Diocese of Arlington Bishop Michael F. Burbidge said in a release. This is particularly important for those already experiencing hardship.”
