A new escape room facility is opening in Manassas today.
The Great Xcape is opening at 8314 Browns Lane at 6 p.m., according to owner Julie Simmonds.
Several escape room businesses have popped up in Northern Virginia in the past few years.
“First and foremost, an escape room is an adventure! You and your friends or family are locked in a themed room and have to figure out how to escape,” stated Simmonds.
According to Simmonds, the facility has four themed escape rooms and virtual reality equipment that is used for various games and activities.
The three current themes are “Shipwrecked”, “The Mad Scientist”, and “Aunt Edna’s Condo”.
“Some themes are scary, some exciting, and some thrilling. We are opening a kids room titled Earth Defense Network in the next couple of months, specifically designed for kids with tons of electronics, exciting visuals, and a lot of hands on activities,” stated Simmonds.
As a promotional opening, tickets through November 19 are $20 per person pre-tax.
