Many Prince William County students don’t need to worry about paying off lunch dues this summer.
School lunch debt has been covered at 20 schools through a Settle the Debt fundraiser, according to a release from the non-profit.
Businesses and members of the public contributed to the campaign, which collected nearly $65,000.
“Several dozen PWCS schools no longer have lunch debt due to the USDA’s Community Eligibility Provision, but we have many other schools still in need,” Founder Adelle Settle said in a release. “It feels good to make a difference in so many lives, and we’ll keep working for Prince William families until we have Universal School Meals for everyone.”
