Prince William County celebrated National Adoption Day over the weekend.
The Prince William County Bar Foundation, the Courts of the 31st Judicial District, the Prince William County Department of Social Services, City of Manassas Park Department of Social Services, and the City of Manassas Department of Family Services worked together to coordinate the 14th annual ceremony at the Prince William County courthouse in Manassas.

The emcee for the event, Supervisor Marty Nohe, shared the story of his adoption experience with two of his own children, as well as Lora Jackel and Patti Huber.
During the ceremony, Judge Carroll Weimer presided over adoption paperwork for seven children from six new families, according to the Prince William County Department of Social Services.
