Minnieville Elementary School Principal Nathaniel Provencio is catching the eye of his alma mater.
George Mason University’s (GMU) Alumni Association is honoring Provencio and 49 other graduates, according to a release.
The Alumni Association is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Alumni nominated Provencio for the recognition, because of his success in educational leadership.
Provencio became Minnieville Elementary School’s principal eight years ago after working as an assistant principal McAuliffe and Bel Air elementary schools, according to a release.
He began his PWCS career in 2001 as a third-grade teacher at Montclair Elementary School.
Provencio received his masters in education for GMU after earning his bachelor’s in elementary education from the University of North Alabama.
Last year, Provencio was named “Principal of the Year” by Prince William County Schools (PWCS). He later earned the Washington Post’s “Principal of the Year” Award.
