Be careful during your morning commute tomorrow.
While no further snow or wintry mix is expected tomorrow, the National Weather Service (NWS) has said that the freezing rain and sleet could continue until midnight.
Little to no accumulation is expected for this storm, but slippery road conditions are possible tomorrow, with the low temperature on the pavement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
“Travel lanes on Interstate 95 and primary roads are clear but motorists are encouraged to use additional caution tonight and tomorrow morning while driving…Any moisture remaining on the road from melted snow or ice may refreeze again tonight. Slick road conditions are possible, especially in neighborhoods and secondary routes,” stated VDOT.
VDOT is encouraging drivers to take their time particularly on bridges, overpasses, and ramps, as well as side roads and hilly areas.
“Crews will continue to patrol roads overnight and apply treatment materials as needed with any reports of icy patches or slick spots,” stated VDOT.
