More people are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Prince William Health District (PWHD) has entered Phase 1C.
Essential workers who work in various industries can now receive the dose, according to a release from the Joint Information Center.
These fields are:
- Water, wastewater, and waste removal
- Housing Construction
- Food Service
- Transportation and Logistics
- Higher Education
- Information Technology (IT) and Communications
- Legal Services
- Public Safety (Engineers)
- Other Public Health Workers
- Barbers, hair stylists, hairdressers
PWHD is transitioning into this next step because those who have pre-registered on the Virginia Statewide Pre-Registration System and fall under phases 1A and 1B were contacted about appointments.
Anyone who is eligible for the vaccine and hasn’t been contacted should make sure their information is correct and complete, check their email, and answer the phone.
To pre-register, visit the Vaccinate Virginia website or call 877-829-4682 (7-1-1 for individuals who use TTY devices).
By April 18, according to Governor Ralph Northam, Virginia is expected to enter Phase 2, during which Virginia residents at least 16 years old can receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
