An administrator at Minnieville Elementary School is stepping into a new role.
Deborah Ellis is the new principal of the Dale City school.
Born in Washington, D.C., Ellis moved to Maryland when she was 4 years old, according to a video from Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS).
Later on, she attended Bennett College in Greensboro, NC.
After working for state and federal governments, Ellis chose to pursue a career in teaching.
Since she joined PWCS 16 years ago, Ellis has worked at three schools — Swans Creek Elementary in Dumfries, Mary Williams Elementary in Dumfries, and Minnieville Elementary, where she has been an Assistant Principal for nine years.
