UPDATE: The Rise Against Hunger meal packing event has been postponed until September 26.
Thousands of meals will soon be getting into the hands of those in need.
Lutheran Church of the Covenant (LCOC) in Dale City and the Woodbridge Rotary Club are raising funds and seeking volunteers for a Rise Against Hunger meal packing event.
The annual program begins at 9 a.m. on March 28 at LCOC, 15008 Cloverdale Road.
Nearly 34,000 meals were packed at last year’s event.
This year, organizers hope to provide 40,000 meals for the hungry.
At least 100 volunteers and $13,000 are needed.
Community members may donate or sign up to volunteer online.
