Growing up, Mark Brookstein dreamed of owning a hotdog stand.
Now, he’s living it out as the owner of the Mark’s Hotdogs and More food truck.
Before pursuing his lifelong goal, Brookstein worked for Comcast for 25 years.
“They treated me very well, and if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have this,” Brookstein said. “I took early retirement from there, saved up a lot of money, and then started the business.”
The food truck hit the road three months ago.
Hot dog stands typically offer just hotdogs. More options are available at Mark’s Hotdogs and More.
“We’re actually carrying brats, italian sausages, beef smoked sausage, and – one of … our best sellers – the deep fried wrapped bacon dog,” Brookstein explained. “It’s a hotdog that’s wrapped in bacon, we throw it in the deep fryer for about three-four minutes. When it comes out, good … as it can be.”
Mark’s Hotdogs and More can often be found at Potomac Mills Mall, near Floor & Decor, 14041 Worth Avenue in Woodbridge.
Last week, the business came to HomeTowne Auto Repair & Tire for an employee appreciation lunch.
“Our employees work very hard, and we simply wanted to thank them for all that they do,” HomeTowne Auto Repair & Tire Owner ST Billingsley said.
