Manassas students and members of the Osbourn High School (OHS) Academic Team Squad competed on “It’s Academic” – a television show based out of Washington, D.C.
“Senior members Jack Spall, Alex Hughes, and Chris Shoemaker represented the team on the quiz show,” stated a release. The OHS Screaming Eagles Marching Band was also featured on the show.
The academic team is run and supported by sponsors and Manassas City Public School teachers. The Academic Team is a competitive, interscholastic activity for which players attend periodic practices and then represent their school at varsity tournaments.
“We’d like to thank Ms. Snell, our team advisor, and the Osbourn administration for their help,” stated team member and captain Spall in a release.
The show made its first airing on NBC4 on January 7.
The team will be traveling to the 6 A North Regional Competition in February.
