Manassas City Public Schools (MCPS) is hosting community meetings to discuss redistricting area elementary and intermediate schools.
According to an MCPS release, the redistricting will go into effect this fall, and is impacted to impact five city schools.
A surge in student growth over the years has prompted the redistricting, according to an MCPS release.
“Manassas City Public Schools has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years. In order for the division to balance the enrollment needs of our current and future students, proper planning must be in place, which includes making sure that our facilities are able to handle the growth,” stated Superintendent Catherine Magouyrk in a release.
