A Manassas sailor was recognized as ‘Warrior of the Day’ by the United States Navy.
According to a release, Naval Aircrewman 3rd Class Bryan Morch received the award on the bridge of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman.
Morch was given the award on July 8, and was selected from a crew of more than 2,000, according to a release.
Morch has served for more than two and a half years as a naval aircrewman for helicopters, and is currently serving with the Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Five, according to a release. According to a release, Morch graduated from Seton High School in Manassas in 2006, and received his Bachelor’s from Marymount University in 2010.
“Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is currently on an eight-month combat deployment in support of maritime security operations and theatre security cooperation effort,” stated a release.
