Many children in need receive their meals at school.
During winter break, however, food isn’t always accessible to them.
Helen Zurita, a Manassas resident, is ensuring that they are remaining well nourished.
The East End Mobile Home Park advocate is collecting non-perishables until December 15.
These are the food items she’s accepting:
- Breakfast bars
- Canned fruit
- Canned soup
- Canned tuna
- Cereal
- Chicken
- Crackers
- Cup of noodles
- Dry beans (black or pinto)
- Hormel meals
- Instant oatmeal
- Jelly
- Pasta
- Peanut butter
- Ravioli
- Rice
- Spaghetti sauce
In addition to food, Zurita is collecting blankets for the children.
