The city will be featured in an episode of the television show ‘Codes and Conspiracies’, airing on the American Heroes Channel.
According to City of Manassas spokeswoman Patty Prince, Flight 33 – the show’s film crew – was on site at the Liberia Plantation in Manassas last week.
The episode will focus on espionage and the Civil War, according to Prince.
“The episode is about Rose Greenhow, a southern spy who lived in Washington, D.C. At the beginning of the Civil War. Betty Duvall, a 16 year old lady, delivered messages from Greenhow to General Beauregard and Col. Thomas Jordan who were at Liberia Plantation at the beginning of the war for the first Battle of Manassas,” stated Prince.
Prince stated that the episodes is slated to air next spring.
“Liberia Plantation is a City treasure and we hope the story will bring attention to this treasure,” stated Prince.
