A Manassas employee has a new role.
Matthew Arcieri was named the Planning and Development Director, according to a release from the city.
He is going to supervise various areas, including zoning and parks, culture and recreation.
“I’m excited to get started in this new role for the City,” Arcieri said in a release. “The City of Manassas has a lot to offer. I hope to see the department grow and help our residents in their efforts to improve their homes, create better living spaces and work through the City processes.”
Before becoming the Planning and Development Director, Arcieri served as the Planning and Zoning Manager, a position he has held since 2013.
He wrote the City of Manassas Zoning Ordinance and the Manassas 2040 Comprehensive Plan, which the Virginia Chapter of the American Planning Association recognized as Commonwealth Plan of the Year in 2020.
Arcieri earned his master’s in Public Administration through Virginia Commonwealth University.
