Community members may join a local city as it celebrates its 150th anniversary.
Manassas was founded as a town following the Civil War, according to the Visit Manassas website. It turned into a city in 1975 – 102 years after being established.
In honor of the birthday, many activities will be offered between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on April 1.
They include fireworks, a rock climbing wall, face painting, crafts, axe throwing, and Manassas Industrial School tours.
More information about the 150th anniversary can be found on the City of Manassas website and the City of Manassas 150th Birthday Celebration Facebook event.
