Several community organizations came together to make this year’s Relay for Life of Eastern Prince William County a success.
The event was held on May 21 at Garfield High School in Woodbridge.
A large crowd braved the rain to come out and support the event, which included a candlelight vigil for loved ones that had passed away, or those who are fighting cancer, according to the Relay for Life website.
According to a release, the Pi Lambda Lambda (PLL) Third District of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity raised $10,046 for the event, and was the top donor.
Over the last 10 years, the chapter has donated more than $117,000 to the Relay for Life Event, according to a release. This year, more than 85 donors participated to help PLL exceed their fundraising goal for the event.
