A fundraiser is helping adults better their lives.
Literacy Volunteers of America-Prince William (LVA-PW) is having their sixth annual Food for Thought — A Taste of Prince William fundraiser on June 5 at 6:30 p..
The event is being held at VFW Post 1503, 14631 Minnieville Road in Dale City.
Food For Thought is a night filled with trivia, raffle baskets, and food from local restaurants. The proceeds raised enable LVA-PW to continue serving the community.
LVA-PW has helped adults in the region improve their reading and writing skills, learn English, obtain citizenship, and assist their children with their homework for 28 years.
Community members can support the non-profit by attending the event, or becoming a volunteer.
Patti Beattie commented, “I have had the wonderful experience of being a volunteer for 16 years. I can’t tell you how satisfying it is. You get back more than you give in the program.”
