Last week, our What’s Up Prince William team had the privilege to take part in InsideNOVA’s night at the Prince William County Fair.
Businesses that won in InsideNOVA’s “Best of Prince William” competition (a big thank you to our readers for voting us Most Community Involved Business) gathered at a grouping of tables to promote their businesses in front of the hordes of fair-goers.
While admittedly many people stopped by our table to enter to win two Fire tablets (the winners will be drawn this Wednesday), we also had the opportunity to engage with people about our platform and what we do – highlighting the “good” news about Prince William County.
Last year we were given the moniker of the “good news people” by one of our readers – and that’s a title we’re proud to have.
And time and time again that night, we heard from people of all walks of life how refreshing it was to have a publication that focused on community issues, events, non-profits and businesses – not clickbait titles about crime and politics that have become such divisive and distressing topics in Prince William.
“We could really use good news right now.”
With what’s going on around the world it’s clear that people need good news now more than ever, and we’ll continue to fill that niche for the positive voices in the community.
Because who doesn’t need a dose of good news every now and again?
Yours,
Stephanie Carter
