Lane closures and delays are expected for drivers on I-95 this week.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), there will be overnight lane closures in Fredericksburg along I-95 as VDOT crews work to install new guardrails as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project.
The closures will begin tonight and run through January 20.

Interstate 95 Northbound
On the evenings of Monday, Jan. 16 and Tuesday, Jan. 17, two lanes will be closed on I-95 northbound at mile marker 131 to allow crews to install new guardrail and remove temporary construction barriers.
9 p.m. − Single I-95 lane closed
10 p.m. – Two I-95 lanes closed
4:30 a.m. – All lanes re-open
Interstate 95 Southbound
On the evenings of Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Thursday, Jan. 19, two lanes will be closed on I-95 southbound at mile marker 131 to allow crews to install guardrail and remove temporary construction barriers.
9:30 p.m. − Single I-95 lane closed
10 p.m. – Two I-95 lanes closed
5 a.m. – All lanes re-open
Overhead message boards will warn travelers of the work zones and possible delays.
