Owners of Lake Ridge Nursery, Susan and Donny Gray, were honored for their long-time commitment to the community and the Prince William Boys & Girls Clubs.
Donny Gray was given his 15-year pin for being a Board Member of the Boys & Girls Club, and for his tireless efforts to help area youth. The award was presented by Boys & Girls Club Board Member ST Billingsley.
“The Gray family have been long-time advocates of the Boys & Girls Club, and we appreciate everything they’ve done to make Prince William County a better place for our kids,” said Billingsley.
Over the years, the Gray family has provided the Boys & Girls Club with monetary donations, and have done all of the landscaping at the three Prince William Boys & Girls Club locations.
“We’re passionate about giving back to the community. That’s always something that we’ve strived to do, since we’ve been in business. And we realize that there’s seems to be a need [and] a disconnect with children in the area being able to be active, have a place to go after school, to help parents out,” said Susan Gray.
The Grays are both lifetime Prince William residents.
“We usually try to give back as much as we possibly can, because we’re both born and raised in Prince William County, and [we] love it,” said Susan Gray.
The Lake Ridge Nursery has been open for 26 years, according to Susan Gray, and is located at 3705 Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge. The Grays have the nursery, garden center, and boutique, and are open year-round.
During the year, they have a pumpkin patch, a fall festival with a moon bounce, and other family activities, like their well-known “racing toilets”.
