This Saturday, April 23rd, Keep Prince William Beautiful is partnering with Potomac Nationals to host a festival at Pfitzner Stadium designed to showcase businesses, nonprofits, food vendors, and other organizations that make Prince William County great.
Over 70 different organizations and businesses are expected to attend. The festival will have everything from live local music, to the Boy Scouts of America’s giant rock climbing wall. You can find prize wheels throughout the festival, a kid’s zone, and a variety of delicious treats in the food truck area. Pet friendly booths will make sure your leashed pets stay well hydrated.
Keep Prince William Beautiful (KPWB) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire people to be environmental stewards in their county. Current acting Director of KPWB, Aliya Faille says that she thinks the festival is a great representation of KPWB’s mission.
“I’m looking forward to interacting with the community and spreading KPWB’s mission,” Faille said. Her son, on the other hand, has his sights set on something more fun. “My son can’t wait to see the vehicles in the Touch-a-Truck area!”
For a small fee, you can enter the Touch-a-Truck area and interact with the men and women that keep the county safe and working smoothly. This will include being able to have hands on experience with fire trucks, cranes, garbage trucks, and more.
One of the business vendors, Missy Tuttle of Gemmis Technologies, says that she believes festivals like this are a vital part of keeping a community healthy.
“It gives neighbors an opportunity to meet other neighbors and see what’s available in the community,” Tuttle said. Gemmis Technologies is using their booth to spread awareness about their efforts to collect old laptops, refurbish them, and then donate them to the local charity The House, Inc.
Tuttle said, “We want to show our neighbors we care about our community and are really invested in its future.” Like many of the booths, Gemmis will also have a prize wheel.
The KPWB festival is free and open to the public. It will be held at Pfitzner Stadium, 7 County Complex Court, Woodbridge, VA and will run from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. For more information, send an email to info@kpwb.org.
